I feel an intrinsic connection to Henry Cowell’s bizarre yet relatable, melodic language, and this composition is meant to reflect just that. The middle section includes a game that Glenn, Desmond and I devised. We each play a note that is contrasting in either direction or range from the previous note; when we land on the same note, it’s our cue to go on. We had fun with this one.
